Ho! Ho! Ho!

Merry Christmas! It's been awhile between posts and so much has happened! We found our new home and moved in during the September holidays. We have plans to paint, garden and redo the window furnishings, but all in good time.
While I hunt around for house photos to share, I thought I'd share some of the gifts I made for Christmas presents. The first is a door hanger, the next a card holder made from scrapbook papers. These are so easy to make and are great gifts. The card holders use six sheets of double sided scrapbook paper and Bazzill cardstock for the covers plus three D rings. I always have one or two in the present cupboard ready to give. The idea was to make twelve assorted cards to put in each month's pocket, but I fell waaaay short with only three cards in each folder! There are a stack of these free patterns on the web and they are quick and easy to make.

Welcome!

It's a beautiful day, made even more so by the fact that tomorrow is a public holiday! It's Picnic Day here in the Territory and we are planning a picnic lunch at the local park with the boys.
Today I finished a redwork block for the SCQIS swap and started to make a few pincushions. I plan on having a giveaway to celebrate the launch of my new blog, so stay tuned!
We love the Territory - never, EVER thought I would say that! - and are planning on staying for a few more years. We have been traipsing through open inspection after open inspection and think we have found The One! Our needs are simple, or so I thought... three bedrooms, a study come sewing room, shed for boy's toys, pool for a quick dip and a shady verandah on which to enjoy a drink or two in the evenings. Fingers crossed, this is it. I am keen to finally put down roots.
For the last 14 years we have moved every two years with James' work and our last move saw us posted to Darwin. I completed my teaching degree and found a great position teaching Year 5, the boys love school and are involved in sport and James is making the move from one force to another!
In amongst all this excitement, my quilting and scrapbooking has fallen by the wayside. I am quite slack at completing projects and decided a blog may help hold me accountable. Here's hoping!
